This is a NOAA image of the Northeastern part of Hokkaido in winter 1995. White part to the north of Kokkaido in the Sea of Okhotsk is ice floe. From the NOAA image, ice floe can be seen extending from the east of Sakhalin to the offshore Hokkaido and around the Shiretoko Peninsula.
