The map below displays the 30 arc second (roughly 1 KM) African DEM. DEMs can take several forms such as: a square grid, a triangular irregular network (TIN), and contour based (Moore, 1991). This DEM is a square array comprised of 9604 rows by 9604 columns. The colors on the legend represent ranges of ground elevations in feet.
